Founded in 1981, by artists for artists, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts supports today’s artists through an international residency program, temporary exhibitions and commissions, and innovative public programs. It serves a critical role in the presentation and understanding of contemporary art, bridging the local level to a global discourse surrounding cultural production today. Jill initiated the idea of utilizing the large lower level for alternative, edgier shows showcasing emerging artists and ideas and with the support of the Bemis. The idea was to create a "low-fi" street approach to the brand and website.
